NARAYANGANJ: Information Communication Technology (ICT) Secretary M Nazrul Islam Khan said the government is working to introduce multimedia classroom in the educational institute.
He said this in a reception programme of meritorious and poor students, who got GPA-5 in SSC, HSC and equivalent examinations in 2011, at Shahid Zia Hall in the district.
Multimedia classroom would improve quality of education through bringing a significant change in teaching and learning system, he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education sources decided to supply laptop ‘Doel’ to 20,500 educational institutions for use in multi-media classrooms at 20,500 educational institutions at secondary and higher secondary levels across the country.
Meanwhile, 4,745 teachers have already been trained for introduction of multimedia classroom.
With Administrator of Narayanganj Zila Parishad Abdul Hye in the chair, the function was attended, among others, by Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj Monoz Kanti Boral and officials of local administration.
Nazrul Islam, also National Project Director of the Support to Digital Bangladesh (A2I) Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), also spoke.
