GAZIPUR: A motorcyclist was killed as a covered van knocked his motorcycle down near Tata showroom in Konabari area on Dhaka-Tangail highway Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman, 32, of Rangpur district.
Witnesses and police source said Habibur was standing with his motorcycle when a covered van knocked him down around 8:30am, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to local clinic where he succumbed to his injuries around 9:30am.
Confirming the matter Konabari highway police outpost sergeant Rabiul Islam said, “The covered van was seized but the driver managed to flee the scene.”
