DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home concluding her two-day official visit to Qatar on Wednesday afternoon.
A special flight of Qatar Airways carrying the Prime Minister landed at Shahjalal International Airport at 6pm.
Deputy Leader of the Jatiya Sangsad Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Planning Minister Air Vice Marshal A K Khandakar, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Jute and Textiles Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan and PM`s advisor HT Imam received the Prime Minister at the airport.
Cabinet Secretary, chiefs of three services, secretaries and senior civil and military officials were present.
Earlier, she left Dhaka for Doha Tuesday to attend the annual US- Islamic World Forum-2012. She delivered a keynote speech in the inaugural session of the Forum on challenges of change.
Besides, she held separate meetings with Crown Prince and Deputy Emir of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, her Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani and other government officials during her visit.
They have discussed financing of the Padma Bridge Project and construction of a new international airport in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, they also discussed upgradation of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and construction of a 1000-MW power plant in the country.
Besides, issues relating to river dredging and recruitment of more manpower from Bangladesh also came up as part of the discussion.
Both sides have expressed their keen interest to further strengthen their bilateral ties for mutual benefits of the two countries.
