DHAKA: Awami Juba League (AJL) general secretary Mirza Azam Friday said that the organization would select those who assist it during the bad times and evaluate the skilled and meritorious.
He made the assertion while briefing about the preparation of the 6th National Congress of AJL at a press conference at the party office in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.
The national congress will be held at city’s Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Saturday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the national congress at 10am.
“The party will remove those who got post in previous committee, but did not work for the party or went to abroad after getting post,” said Mirza Azam.
The Juba League leader apprised that the council would begin through hoisting the national flag by the Prime Minister. Juba League president Omar Faruque will hoist the party flag.
The last national congress of AJL was held on July 25 in 2003 in which Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak was elected as its chairman and Mirza Azam as general secretary.
