NBR for 8 initiatives to collect tax

DHAKA: National Board of Revenue (NBR) has taken eight initiatives to meet the revenue collection target in the current fiscal year.

Chairman of the NBR Nasiruddin Ahmed came up with the statement at NBR conference room Wednesday.

NBR has set Tk 1.12 crore revenue goal in the fiscal year 2012-13 which is 18.86 percent over than the previous year.

According to the chairman, the initiatives include intensive monitoring and monthly review of tax collection procedure, holding various fairs to create awareness among the people on tax paying, digitalizing the income tax and VAT management system.

NBR members M Farid Uddin, Rahela Chowdhury, Bashir Uddin, Enayet Hossain and M Shahjahan were among others present at the meeting.
