2 held with firearms in city

DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members held two miscreants with firearms and phensedyl from Rajarbagh Police Line area early Friday.

The arrestees are Sagor, 40, and Masum, 30.

The law enforcers recovered four foreign made pistols, 16 rounds of bullets, 40 bottles phensedyl, seven magazines and two private cars from their possessions.

RAB-3 crime prevention special company Major Mohiuddin told banglanews RAB personnel gave signal to a private car from a check post near gate-3 of Rajarbagh Police Line at about 3am.

But, the miscreants inside the car opened fire towards the RAB members. RAB officials also returned fire that left Sagor injured.

Later, Sagor was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The preparation of filing a case with Shahjahanpur Thana is underway.
