DHAKA: Shakib Al Hasan, the talented left-hand batsman and left-arm spinner of Bangladesh national cricket team, is also considered as the best cricketer of the country.
Shakib became only the 28th player in the history of test cricket to score a century and pick up 5 wickets in an innings in a test match in 2011 vs Pakistan. He is ranked by ICC as number-1 all rounder in Tests and ODIs currently.
As a bowler, he is accurate, consistent, and canny; and his aggression and a wide range of strokes are the keys to his batting. Even more importantly, he has self-belief, an excellent temperament, is unflustered by the big occasion and ready to do battle against the top teams.
Recently, he took part in the IPL T-20 tournament on behalf of Kolkata Knight Rides and won a historic victory. Kolkata Knight Riders for the first time won the Indian Premier League (IPL)-2012 trophy defeating Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in their final match on Sunday.
