DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed Friday said the recently placed budget does not reflect the people’s demand.
The BNP lawmaker came up with the assertion while addressing a meeting, marking the 31st death anniversary of Ziaur Rahman, organized by Bangladesh Sangskritik Dal at the National Press Club in the city on Friday.
The budget will increase the commodity prices, instability, and unemployment and decline the law and order situation due to its deficits and high ambitions, Moudud added.
The veteran BNP leader said the downward trend of budget would not be able to accomplish the goals. The nation has plunged into severe frustration after Muhith’s budget announcement as they waited for it amid huge expectation and inclination.
Among others, major (Rtd) MM Mehbur Rahman in the chair, former state minister of education Ehsanul Haque Milon, eminent lyricist and BNP`s cultural affairs secretary Gazi Mazharul Anwar also addressed the meeting.
