CHITTAGONG : A night guard was killed as an oil-laden lorry rammed him down in the Navy Gate area under Bandarban Thana early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Jahirul Islam, 70, a night guard of Juga Fakir Hatt area.
Bandarban Thana SI Mustafa Jamal Sawkat told banglanews, “An oil-laden lorry rammed him down at about 2am while he was crossing the road, killing him on the spot.”
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.
A petrol team of police held the lorry driver soon after the incident and took him to the police station.
