Stocks end higher

DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of country`s bourses on Wednesday.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 155 points to stand at 4183 on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 72582 with transaction at Tk 2042 million. Of the issues traded, 255 advanced, 9 declined and 4 remained unchanged.

GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 116 million having changed hands during the time.

The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, BEXIMCO, JAMUNAOIL MPETROLEUM, SQURPHARMA, NBL, LAFSURCEML, MICEMENT and UNIQUEHRL
        
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8027 by gaining over 288  points at 12 pm.

Out of the issues traded, 180 gained, 12 declined and 2 remained unchanged.
