DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Awami League Advisory Council member and minister without portfolio Suranjit Sengupta categorically said there is no scope to way back to caretaker government system.
He came up with the statement while addressing a meeting organized by Bangabandhu Shikkha and Gobesona Parishad held at Dhaka University on Friday noon.
No more election will be held under unelected government. Thus, we have to hold the next general election under interim government, he added.
The AL lawmaker said the election will be held under interim government as we can not disavow the constitution.
The minister called the opposition to share constructive ideas over the figure of the interim government cabinet.
He also urged the opposition not to spread any confusion to undermine politics.
With DU Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair, Advocate Abdul Baset Majumder, Dr Abdul Mannan Akand, among others, spoke in the meeting.
