PABNA: Four members of banned outfit Janajuddha were killed in a mob beating in Brikaliani of Faridpur upazila Thursday morning.
Of the deceased, one was identified as Khalilur Rahman, 26, son of Nazu Pramanik, and Liton Hossain, 24, son of Abdus Salam.
Faridpur Thana Inspector Shamsul Islam said some seven to eight members of Janajuddha demanded extortion from one Abul Kalam’s residence of the area around 5:30am. They started beating Kalam as he refused to give the toll.
Hearing Kalam’s scream, locals rushed in and lynched the outlaws, leaving the four dead on the spot.
On information, police rushed in and recovered the body from the spot.
