“Remembering Sunil Gangopadhyay”

DHAKA: A Commemorative programme to remember Sunil Gangopadhyay, who recently passed away in Kolkata, was held at Indira Gandhi Culture Centre Auditorium in city’s Gulshan Saturday.

The programme started with one of Sunil Gangopadhyay’s favourite singers Ms Iffat Ara Dewan presenting a couple of  Tagore songs fitting to the occasion.

Thereafter noted personalities paid their tributes to Sunil Gangopadhyay by reciting poems written by him & in his memories as well as remembering their personal moments with the legendary writer.

Those who paid tributes include poets Belal Chowdhury, Mahadeb Saha, Robiul Haq; Senior Police Official Ibrahim Fatemi; Famous Actor & Managing Director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation, Pijush Bandopadhyay; noted recitation artists Bhaswar Bandopadhyay, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Dahlia Ahmed; and Late Humayun Ahmed’s wife Meher Afroz Shaon.
