DHAKA: Trading on the country`s two bourses is underway showing sharp fall in share- price indices on Monday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 80 points to stand at 4191 at 12:18pm on the second trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 23, 298 with transaction at Tk 590 million.
Of the issues traded, 12 advanced, 213 declined and seven remained unchanged.
BANGLADESH SUBMARINE CABLE COMPANY topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 46 million having changed hands.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8106 by dropping over 115 points at 12:15pm.
Out of the issues traded, six gained, 122 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
Earlier on Sunday, benchmark indices at DSE and CSE shed over 18 and 58 points respectively.
