Stocks witness fall

DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses witnessed fall in share-price indices on Monday.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over nine points minus to stand at 4,008 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 80,385 with transaction at Tk 2,104 million. Of the issues traded, 55 advanced, 194 declined and 16 remained unchanged.

GENNEXT topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 280 million having changed hands during the time.

The other turnover leaders are ENVOYTEX, UNIQUEHRL, UNITEDAIR, BSCCL, RNSPIN, JAMUNAOIL, TITASGAS, PUBALIBANK and SAIHAMCOT.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 7,816 by dropping over 13 points.

Out of the issues traded, 32 gained, 124 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
