RAJSHAHI: Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Bagha and Sadar upazilas of the district Tuesday.
Rajshahi Bagha Thana Officer-in-Charge Ali Ahmed Hashmi told banglanews that the driver of a brick-laden trolley lost control over its steering and it fell on a student on Tapukuria road, leaving a student critically injured.
The injured—Parvin--was taken to Bagha Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared her dead.
She was a student of class-VI of Tapukuria High School and daughter of Jamal Uddin of Tapuria village.
A case was filed with the thana in this connection.
In another mishap, a passenger bus rammed an official of Rajshahi City Corporation around 1:00pm, leaving the official dead on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Mamur Alam Liton, supervisor of the city corporation, hailed from Meherchandi Budhpara of the city.
Officer-in-Charge of Rajshahi Boalia Model Thana Kazi Jalal Uddin confirmed the incident to banglanews.
