DHAKA: Investors witnessed moderate fall in the benchmark indices of country’s bourses on Sunday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 43 points to stand at 4,725 at the close on the first trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions also tumbled to Tk 1,363 million from Thursday’s Tk 2,989 million. Trade deals stood at 36,858 against the previous day’s 79,537.
Of the issues traded, 50 advanced, 174 declined and 22 remained unchanged.
SIBL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 123 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, PADMAOIL, MPETROLEUM, GP, SQURPHARMA, JAMUNAOIL, TITASGAS, LANKABAFIN and SANDHANINS.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9,856 by dropping over 91 points.
Out of the issues traded, 23 gained, 142 declined and 9 remained unchanged.
On Thursday, the benchmark indices of DSE and CSE shed 22 and 28 points respectively.
