DHAKA: Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque said the present government has stigmatized the entire nation in order to protect former communication minister Abul Hossain.
Addressing the government, he said, “Resign and arrange election under neutral government in order evaluate your popularity.”
He came up with the urge while addressing a human chain demo demanding Prime Minister’s resign over Padma Bridge issue in front of National Press Club on Wednesday morning.
Regarding the issue of World Bank’s fund cancellation for constructing the Padma Bridge, Farroque said, “The outgoing president of WB did not take the decision alone. The committee of the organization has taken the decision. So, the new president has accepted it.”
Addressing the Premier, the opposition leader said, “You are not paying attention to the advice of the opposition leaders. Your government is passing series of bills in the national Parliament without the participation of opposition party.”
“Please, place the caretaker government bill in the Parliament,” he added.
