DHAKA: State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan Wednesday said housing law 2010 would strictly be implemented to protect housing industry and protect buyers from cheating.
“Owners of housing companies will be given punishment of two years imprisonment or a fine of Tk 10 lakh or both for airing advertisement of their unapproved projects,” he said.
The minister came up with the assertion while talking to reporters after emerging from a meeting with newly elected committee of REHAB at his secretariat office.
A 29-member REHAB team led-by its President Nasrul Hamid paid the call.
He told the journalists that leaders of REHAB were being warned that Private Housing Development and Management Law, 2010 would be implemented strictly.
People would be informed and aware about the housing law so that none can cheat with them, he added.
He urged businessmen to inform and aware people about the housing law, saying that real businessmen would earn profit after implementing the law.
On December 7 in 2011, the High Court ordered the government to stop advertisement and flat-selling of unapproved housing projects.
