4 BNP leaders on 1-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court Wednesday placed four BNP leaders on one-day remand in driver Badar killing case.

They are Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal President Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Juba Dal General Secretary Saiful Islam Nirob and BNP leader Abdul Matin.

Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey passed the order.

The court also sent Swechchhasebak Dal General Secretary Mir Sharafat Ali Safu to jail rejecting his remand plea.

Bus driver Badar Ali Beg, 48, was burnt alive while asleep inside his bus on April 21 in city.
