DHAKA: Communications and Railway Minister Obaidul Quader Thursday said it is time for action, not for delivering speech as he is doing the duty of fixing the wrecked rail, road of the country.
“If I spoil three hours at once in delivering speech, the country will lose three hours. Within these three hours I can take three vital decisions or visit three dilapidated roads,” he said.
The communications minister came up with the observation while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Sri Sri Jagannather Rath Jatra of Hindu community held at city’s Swamibagh Ashram.
Quader said, “The enemy of 16 crore people of the country is corruption and poverty. Receiving the message of Sri krishna, we have to fight in all sphere of life for the peace of the countrymen and it is the message of the day.”
With Swamibagh Ashram Sebayet Zosudhanadan Acharya in the chair, Biren Sikder MP, Swechhasebak League general secretary Pankaj Debnath, Bangladesh Puja Udzapan Parishad general secretary Monindra Kumar Debnath, Dhaka City Puja Udzapon Parishad president Biresh Chandra Saha, Engineer Sahadev Chandra Boidya and expatriate of Singapore Advocate Ranjit Saha also spoke.
