DHAKA: The World Population Day is set to be observed on Wednesday in the country as elsewhere around the globe
This year’s theme for the day is : Universal Access to Reproductive Health Services”.
Different government and non-governmental organizations have chalked out various programmes to mark the day.
As per health ministry data, Bangladesh’s population stands at 15.10 crore.
The population growth rate in the country is 1.34 percent. Following this demographic trend, within 50 years the population of Bangladesh will reach a staggering figure of 30:20 crore.
President Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have issued separate messages on the occasion.
World Population Day will be observed by bringing out processions and rallies in all districts to aware people about family planning.
