ASHUGANJ, BRAHMANBARIA: Three people were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a microbus at Boygarh in Ashuganj Upazila on Dhaka-Sylhet highway Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Md. Abul Hossain, 58, son of late Asib Ali of Sunamganj, Lilu Mia, 30, of same area and Nannu Mia, 47, son of Amin Ullah Mia of Sylhet.
Ashuganj Thana OC Abdul Quader told banglanews, “A Dhaka-bound microbus from Sylhet collided head-on with a good-laden truck coming from opposite direction in the morning, leaving eight people injured critically.”
The injured were admitted to District Sadar Hospital where Nannu Mia, the microbus driver, died under treatment.
Later, injured were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated.
But, Abul Hossain died on the way to Dhaka while Lilu Mia succumbed to his injuries at DMCH, said sources.
Other injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
