BHOLA: An Ansar man was killed as an auto-rickshaw knocked him from behind at Gazaria bazaar in Lalmohan upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Shahid, Ansar member of Umed Union Parishad and son of late Ishak Ali of Pangasia village.
Witnesses said an auto rickshaw hit him from behind at west side of the Gazaria bazaar while he was crossing the area at about 10pm, leaving him seriously injured.
He was rushed to Lalmohan Heath Complex and was shifted to Bhola Sadar hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Later, he succumbed to his injuries at about 1am, sources added.
Locals caught the auto-rickshaw but it’s driver managed to flee the scene.
When contacted, Lalmohan Thana OC Khandaker Mizanur Rahman told banglanews, “They are yet to inform about the accident. He is collecting information about it.”
