DHAKA: The government will not give registration and renewal to any travel agency excepting members of Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB).
Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry has taken the decision at a meeting with ATAB at the secretariat.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Faruk Khan presided over the meeting.
ATAB President Mohaimen Saleh led the delegation of the association.
The meeting also decided that the travel agencies have to get the membership of ATAB for opening new agency or renewal.
Sources said the decision was taken for placing the tourism sector into a strong structure.
