GAZIPUR: Two people, including a woman, were killed as a bus ran over them in Board Ghar area on Dhaka-Tangail highway under Kaliakoir upazila on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Kuddus, 45, son of Zonab Ali, of Tansutrapur area under the upazila while the identity of the woman aged around, 30, could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-Charge of Kaliakoir Thana Omar Faruk told banglanews that a Dhaka-bound bus ran over them around 1:30pm in the area while they were standing beside the highway, leaving Abdul dead on the spot and the woman injured critically.
Later, the woman succumbed to her injuries on the way to Mirzapur Hospital.
The body of the woman was kept at the thana, the OC added.
