NEW YORK: Managing Director of Probashi Kalyan Bank CM Koyes Sami claimed that he was not involved in any irregularity or corruption of Oriental Bank.

“With my conscience, I can assure that I am not involved in any irregularity or corruption of Oriental Bank, but obviously the responsibility also comes on me   as I was in a chair,” he said.

He came up with the assertion while talking to banglanews New York correspondent in an exclusive interview recently.

CM Koyes Sami is now visiting Washington to attend the World Bank (WB) meeting. He will also ‘explore exchange house’ as joint venture by expatriate Bangladeshis in New York.

“Probashi Kalyan Bank will be the ‘number one bank’ in the country by all means in future,” he said, when asked his dream of Probashi Kalyan Bank.

The Government initiated this venture as to particularly help the expatriate Bangladeshis and absolutely inspired by the Prime Minister, he added.

He said, Government has declared 500 Tk. Crore primary capitals for the probashiKallyan bank. And the 95% of that capital, Tk.400 crore will be invested byexpatriate Bangladeshis.

Probashi Kalyan Bank’s ‘Share’ will be strictly and only open to expatriate Bangladeshis. Probashi Kalyan Bank will be absolutely an expatriates’ bank, he added.

He also has said there no ways to politicize this bank as per the rules and the system of this bank.

Koyes Sami said expatriate Bangladeshis should be given ‘incentives’ to expatriates sending remittance, because they are the real heroes for the development of Bangladesh. He also has proposed, ‘remittance without fees.’

He said even a little incentive for the remittance would increase countries remittance to 20 billion dollars by next year. Last year the amount of that remittance was 13 billion dollars.

Koyes Sami also has proposed that the government should ensure a minimum 5 percent of capital loan for the expatriate Bangladeshis as mandatory like the ‘agriculture sector’ loan.
