DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of country’s bourses on Thursday for the second straight trading day.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 68 points to stand at 4,734 at the close on the last trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions, however, slightly tumbled to Tk 1,852 million from Wednesday’s Tk 1,872 million. Trade deals stood at 59,995 against the previous day’s 60,409.
Of the issues traded, 193 advanced, 42 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 101 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were SQURPHARMA, LAFSURCEML, LANKABAFIN, MPETROLEUM, SANDHANINS, JAMUNAOIL, BEXIMCO, UCBL and AFTABAUTO.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,978 by gaining over 39 points.
Out of the issues traded, 123 gained, 30 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
On Wednesday, the benchmark indices of DSE and CSE rose 68 and 104 points respectively.
