DHAKA: Leaders of Bangladesh Investors Oikya Parisad called the brokerage houses to halt trade on Thursday following the incessant price fall.
They came up with the plea while staging demonstration in front of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Wednesday.
President of the organization Mizanur Rashid Chowdhury told banglanews, “The investors have locked into cashless. If the fall continues, nothing will remain to live.
He added: “Thus, we are asking the authority to halt the trade until the steadiness returns in the market.”
Addressing the demo, general secretary of the organization Abdur Razzak said, “We requested the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to shut the server down on Thursday as we will not participate in the trade.”
He added: “If they fail to stop trade, we will go for tough movement.”
Moreover, the investors, during their demo, also demanded resignation of the Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman and SEC Chairman M Khairul Hossain.
